Pure Colour Interior Design

I am working on a kitchen makeover. My client wants to lighten and brighten their space without getting a completely new kitchen. She wants to have her kitchen cupboards painted and change her finishes. I suggested a creamy white cabinet with light blue walls and gold finishes. I did a small interior painting to try to show her what it might look like. Stay tuned for the finished kitchen pictures. See below the wood kitchen cabinets that make the room look dark.

One thing I love to do is find hidden gems and bring to to life. This is a chair that I found at a thrift store. It has a hole in the cane seating. It is actually a Brighton Pavillion Chair from the 50s I think. Anyway I don’t know how to repair a cane seat so after measuring the seat, I had my husband cut a piece of plywood and made a cushion for it using my trusty artichoke tea towel. I am very happy with the way it turned out. It was a fun project 😎

I did a colour and design consultation for a very nice couple building a house on the river back in January. I helped them pick colours for the entire house. I dont often get to see the results after the fact but I was lucky enough to get some pictures! They are thrilled with the results. The clients wanted to go predominately grey including the floors, I suggested they use a bit warmer colour for the floors mainly because an all grey house can come off lookinng cold. I am so pleased they took my suggestion. The idea was a bit out of the husbands comfort zone but they are very happy they did. Heres some of the finished rooms. The wall colour is from Farrow and Ball. They have excellent paint and colours.

Just returned to a clients home to help with paint colours for their basement and adjoining rooms. They wanted to lighten things up a bit as basements are inherently dark. I came up with a lighter colour that they liked and still compliments their furnishings. Unlike the decorating shows, most people can’t buy all new furniture.

I have been working with a client recently in helping them edit and hang pictures and sports memorabilia of their 3 son’s baseball careers.
There is still more to go but things are looking good.
The trick is editing and sifting through everything because you can’t hang everything . Giving a place of importance on the wall of fame without looking too cluttered.
This family is blessed with three professional baseball pitchers! Amazing!

Blue and white project! By painting the top third or wall navy and the lower portion white, it really makes the room look bigger and ties in the navy sofa without overpowering the room with too much navy. The brass porthole adds a nice nautical touch!
