Murray Thomas McCall
May 16th, 1955 - August 10th, 2026

At the age of 71, in his home town of Prince George, Murray sadly passed on Monday August 10, 2026. Born in Ontario to parents Alan & Betty, Murray made his way west to BC in the 90’s to join his older brother Jim (predeceased) (Bev). He is survived by his younger sister Mary (Craig) and predeceased by his older sister Jan (Greg). Loved for his kindness & silliness by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew. Murray was an avid hockey player, a lover of camping, being by the lake and good food on the BarB. He always celebrated being with family and friends. A huge sports fan, he never missed a Canucks or Jays game (the Leafs when they weren’t blacked out!) He cherished his many “good times” with his friends & extended family in BC and ON. His family would like to give a huge thanks to his friends and neighbours in PG who have helped and supported him tremendously through these last several months. In his memory donations to Crohn’s & Colitis Canada would be appreciated.

Debbora Lynn Unterhofer
August 10, 1955 – August 6, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Debbora Unterhofer, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend.

Debbora had a warmth and openness that drew people to her. She was generous, compassionate, sincere, and genuinely interested in others. She loved good conversation, meeting new people, sharing stories, and forming connections wherever life took her.

Creativity was woven throughout Debbora’s life. She found joy in watercolour painting, drawing, crafts, tending to her plants, and especially sunflowers and sunsets. She loved travelling and remained curious, optimistic, fiercely independent, and willing to follow her own path.

A great source of love and companionship in Debbora’s life was her longtime partner, Tom Mills, who predeceased her. Together they shared adventures, a love of collecting rocks, and many simple experiences that became some of her most treasured memories.

Debbora also had a wonderfully unconventional side. She embraced humour, individuality, and being a little different. For a time, she owned and operated a daycare in Burns Lake, where her caring nature and natural warmth with people found a fitting home.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Brad (Jessica) and Adam (Tamara); her grandchildren, Taylor and Nash; her mother, Margaret
McLachlan; her sister, Lorna Quaw; her brothers, Robin and Wade McLachlan; and her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Keith McLachlan, and her longtime partner, Tom Mills.

Debbora will be remembered for the kindness she gave freely, the creativity she brought into the world, and the unmistakable way she made life a little more colourful simply by being herself.

In keeping with Debbora’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.

Those wishing to honour her memory may make a donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Robert Ejack
February 11, 1943 to August 1, 2026

Robert Ejack of Prince George, BC passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving wife Laura, and their devoted daughter Susan.

He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lisa whom he always carried in his heart and his parents Peter and Pauline Ejack.

Bob will be forever loved and missed by his wife Laura of 63 years, daughter Susan (George) Danilec, grandsons Max, Sam, Ben, Tom and Jaxon; granddaughter Paige; his sisters Gail (John) Engbrecht, Bev (Richard) Larmand and Cindy Snaychuck as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and the many lives he touched along the way.

Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He took pride in his daughters and grandchildren and was always there to encourage them, offer words of wisdom and create many memories. Grandpa was their #1 fan.

For 45 years, Bob was a dedicated member of the Nechako Lodge No. 86 of the Masonic Society. He lived the principles of brotherhood, charity, honesty and service, not only in word but by the way he treated others. He received the Masonic Medal of Merit, a recognition that reflected a lifetime of dedication and service to others.

Bob loved the game of hockey. He was an alumni of the Prince George Spruce Kings hockey organization, a connection that reflected in his deep ties to the community.

Every spring he looked forward to polishing his Harley-Davidson motorbike and going for a ride. He treasured the freedom and the friendships it gave him. Being a part of the Toy Ride was an important occasion where his passion for riding was matched by being able to give back to the Salvation Army for children.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Bashir, Drs McGhee, Panasar, and Saleem for their kindness and support. A heartfelt thank you to the Hospice House, for their gentle care, compassionate hearts, and unwavering care to our family. You all were a true blessing.

Bob lived life to the fullest extent. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Prince George Hospice House would be greatly appreciated.

Thelma Mohammed (née Johnson)
July 20, 1957 – July 23, 2026

Thelma passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, in Prince George, B.C., just days after celebrating her
69th birthday. After nearly four years of courageously living with and fighting cancer, the disease returned. Surrounded by her loving family, she spent her final days in the compassionate care of the wonderful staff at Prince George Hospice House, where she passed away peacefully.

Born on July 20, 1957, in Revelstoke, B.C., Thelma was the loving daughter of Bob and Anna Johnson. She grew up in McBride, B.C., alongside her sisters, Ruth, Sharon, and Barbie, and her brothers, Robert and Eric. Her early years in McBride shaped the strength, resilience, and quiet determination that she carried beautifully throughout her entire life.
Thelma went on to enjoy a long, fulfilling career with the Royal Bank, where her warmth and dedication allowed her to form many lasting friendships that she treasured deeply. She married the love of her life, Peter Mohammed, and together they built a beautiful life and raised
their children, Myles and Alison, in Prince George.

A devoted and loving mother and life partner Thelma was the true anchor who kept her family
connected. Her welcoming spirit shone through in everything she did, whether she was hosting family gatherings at home or creating unforgettable memories during summers spent at Stuart Lake. She had a way of making everybody feel truly special, always showing her deep love through the incredible meals she prepared and the welcoming environment she created. In recent years, Thelma’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, Hudson and Anna. Being their Grandma was one of her life’s greatest blessings. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with them—playing, laughing, making memories, and simply enjoying their company. Her love for them knew no bounds, and the joy they brought to her life was immeasurable. They loved and adored her just as deeply.

Thelma is survived and will be forever missed by her loving husband, Peter; her children, Myles (and his late partner, Brigette) and Alison (Ryan); and her cherished grandchildren, Hudson and Anna. She also leaves behind her devoted siblings, Ruth Olineck (Mitch), Robert Johnson (Eleanor), Sharon Hirsch (Neal), Eric Johnson (Melanie), and Barbara Johnson, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She will be deeply missed, but her warmth and love will live in our hearts forever.

In Loving Memory of Michel Labonté
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Michel “Mike” Labonté, 83, of Prince George, BC. Mike passed away at his home on Friday, July 17th, 2026.
Born Joseph André Wilfrid Michel in Morinville, Alberta on September 19, 1942 to Lucien and Honorine Labonté, Mike was the fourth of eleven children. He moved to Prince George in the late ‘60s as a salesman for Gainers Meats. He married Kathleen Glasser July 11, 1970 and together they raised five children. He worked as a salesman and sales manager for Malkins and Sunspun Foods for over two decades, then operated his own catering and concession stand business.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Pepère, as well as an active member of his church and community. He was a member of St. Mary’s parish for nearly six decades, led several fundraising campaigns for the Church and Elementary school, and was a proud contributing member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a driving force behind the growth of youth soccer in the city, first as a coach, then as a zone manager, and ultimately as the chair of Prince George Youth Soccer Association where he, in collaboration with his board, created the soccer fields now used by youth players across the city. One of the fields is named for him.
Mike is survived by his wife Kathleen, his daughters Michelle (Jack) and Karen, his sons Chris (Michelle), Daniel, and Mark (Roberta), as well as his grandchildren Paul, James, Sophie, Simon, Elliot, Megan, Owen, Juliet, and Jolene. He is also survived by his sisters Evangeline (Louis), Rogelle (Willie), Denise, Yvonne (Tom), and Marie (Gerry), and his brother Roger (Bernadette).
A prayer vigil will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 7.30 pm on Friday, July 24. His funeral service will be held at the Church at 11am on Saturday, July 25.

Dianne Lea MacDonald (née Forrest)

April 30, 1947 – June 25, 2026

A life devoted to caring for others.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Dianne Lea MacDonald
(née Forrest) on June 25, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Dianne moved with her family to Prince
George, British Columbia, and spent her childhood growing up in the
Island Cache, where she attended Connaught Elementary. Later, her family
moved to Blackburn. From an early age, she developed the quiet
compassion and strong work ethic that would define her life.

She completed her Licensed Practical Nurse training in 1971, graduating
in February 1972, and soon began her nursing career at Prince George
Regional Hospital. During her training, she was honoured with the
Fairlie Peacock Memorial Award for Best Bedside Nursing, a fitting
recognition of the compassion and excellence that would define her
lifelong calling. She worked in a variety of departments, including
Pediatrics and Emergency, before making the decision in 1980 to leave
nursing to devote herself to raising her children, Michelle and Michael.
For Dianne, caring for her family was every bit as important as caring
for her patients.

Together, Dianne and her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Byron,
built a beautiful home on five acres in Pineview. Married on September
21, 1972, they shared over five decades together before Byron’s
passing in 2023. Their property was home to horses, sheep, chickens,
geese, and Highland cattle over the years, and their door was always
open. Family and friends gathered there for memorable sheep roasts, crab
boils, and Christmas dinners, where no one ever left hungry.

When her children were older, Dianne returned to what she loved most,
caring for those who couldn’t care for themselves, by joining Home
Support in 1993. There, she compassionately served countless individuals
throughout the Prince George area until her retirement. Whether caring
for patients in hospital, raising her family, or helping people remain
comfortably in their own homes, Dianne approached everyone with dignity,
patience, and genuine kindness.

Dianne found great joy in spending summers at the family cabin on
Cluculz Lake, where days were filled with laughter, card games, and time
with those she loved. She enjoyed travelling to the Okanagan to visit
family and friends, always returning with fresh fruit to can and
preserve for the months ahead. At Christmastime, she became famous among
family and friends for her cherished Christmas cakes, carefully baked
each year and thoughtfully gifted to a fortunate few. Receiving one was
a tradition and a privilege.

Being a grandmother was one of Dianne’s greatest joys. She lovingly
cared for Gabriel, Garrett, Gemma, and Lauchlin, and for many years
opened her home every afternoon to care for Gabriel, Garrett, and Gemma
after school. She created a place where her grandchildren always knew
they were welcome, safe, and deeply loved.

Dianne also believed in giving back to her community. She volunteered
for many years with Highland dance and the Elder Citizens Recreation
Association, quietly serving others in the same humble way she had
throughout her life.

Above all else, Dianne will be remembered for her unconditional
kindness, unwavering devotion to her family, and her instinct to place
the needs of others before her own. Whether she was caring for a
patient, helping a neighbour, welcoming friends into her home, or
spending time with her family, she gave of herself freely. She faced a
long and difficult battle with COPD with remarkable strength, grace, and
quiet determination, never allowing her illness to diminish the warmth
and kindness she showed to everyone around her. Even throughout her
illness, those caring for her often remarked on her patience,
politeness, and gentle spirit.

Dianne is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michelle (Trevor); her
son, Michael (Amber-Dawn); her cherished grandchildren, Gabriel,
Garrett, Gemma, and Lauchlin; her sister, Cheryl (Byron); her brothers,
George (Joanne), Kim (Stacey), and Dave; and her many nieces, nephews,
extended family members, and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Byron MacDonald; her
parents, Armand and Dorene Forrest; and her brothers, Ronald and Kendall
Forrest.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Wooldridge and the
physicians, nurses, and staff of the Primary Care Medical Unit at the
University Hospital of Northern British Columbia for the exceptional
care, compassion, and dignity they showed Dianne throughout her illness.
Throughout her stay, many members of the staff remarked on her kindness
and grace despite the immense challenges she faced.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 25, 2026, with the
location to be announced.

To have been cared for by Dianne was to know her kindness. To have been
loved by her was life’s greatest blessing. Her example will live on in
the family she cherished, the friends she welcomed, and the countless
lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Wayne Ralph Randell (June 27th, 1950 - July 8th, 2026)

It is with profound grief, love, and immeasurable gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, and Poppy, Wayne Randell, on July 8th, 2026 in Prince George, BC, at the age of 76.

A life richly lived, Wayne was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland on June 27th, 1950 and raised by his amazing father, Lloyd, alongside his cherished brothers and sisters. Marrying the love of his life, Diane (nee Hapke) in 1983, together they would welcome his pride and joy, daughters Nicole and Natalie. An exceptional teacher, both in and out of the classroom, Wayne's sage wisdom and theatrical storytelling engaged everyone in his presence. Moving to Prince George and continuing his teaching career at PGYCC, he eventually retired from School District 57 at the CLA in 2015 into full-time Poppy mode. He spent countless hours with his treasured grandchildren, Parker and Lainey, who he always exclaimed made him "the luckiest man on face of the planet." His loving family continued to expand with the addition of his adored bonus grandchildren, Harmony and Finley, son-in-law Micha Pesta, and soon to be son-in-law, Graeme Whitehead. He will forever be fondly remembered by his close knit crew of siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Our immense grief is mirrored by the immense love we've created as a family, with Wayne at the helm.

Please join us in celebrating a life lived well on Saturday, July 18th at 2:00 pm at the Prince George Funeral Home, 1014 Douglas St, Prince George, BC.

Joe loved to work. His job passion was driving a CAT machine. He could take one apart, put it all back together and talk for hours on the roads he helped build from the Yukon to Fort St James. Joe loved animals and especially loved hummingbirds,

Irma Evenson (née Penner)
December 29, 1929 – June 29, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce that Irma Evenson passed away peacefully in Prince George, BC, on June 29, 2026, at the remarkable age of 96½.
Irma (née Penner) was born in Sedalia, AB, on December 29, 1929, to Peter and Katarina (née Dueck) Penner. She grew up on a farm in Tofield, AB, and in 1944 the family moved to Chilliwack, BC. Raised alongside six siblings, she developed the deep faith, strong work ethic, and compassionate spirit that guided her throughout her life. Irma became a teacher, a profession that suited her caring nature, teaching in Pouce Coupe, North Bend, and at Cambie Secondary in Richmond. At Cambie, fellow teacher Millie introduced Irma to her brother-in-law, Warren Evenson. They married in 1963 and moved to Vancouver Island, where they ran a trucking business and welcomed three children: Leone, Duane, and Noreen.
The family lived first in the remote community of Mahatta River, BC, then in Holberg, BC, before settling in Grande Cache, AB, in 1975. There, Warren and Irma ran heavy dump trucks at the coal mine, established the family's machine and repair shop, and raised their children in a life centred on hard work, faith, and community. They retired to Prince George, BC, in 1996.
After Warren's passing in 1998, Irma remained in Prince George, close to the family she cherished. A woman of unwavering faith, Irma was an active member of her Mennonite church community. She generously volunteered as a Sunday morning greeter, faithfully worked at the annual Mennonite Fair, and found great joy in serving others. Irma also embraced adventure, travelling extensively with church groups visiting many countries around the world and creating treasured memories.
Closer to home, Irma was a devoted fan of the Prince George Cougars. As a longtime season ticket holder, she rarely missed a game and could be found walking laps around the concourse before the games. She had an exceptional green thumb, and her African violets flourished under her gentle care.
More than anything, Irma treasured her family. Irma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Warren; her parents, Peter and Katarina Penner; her brothers Henry, John, Ervin, and Vern; her sister, Kay; and her granddaughter, Ashley.
She leaves to mourn her children, Leone, Duane, and Noreen (Ron); her grandchildren Jesse (Kylie), Ryan, Russell, Dale, Megan, and Amy (Justin); her brother, Ernie; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers who provided Irma with compassionate care during her final years.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prince George Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Irma's life. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Spirit Room at the Prestige Treasure Cove Resort.
