One last music night for August! On Sunday August 23rd starting at 7pm, Avalon Stanley will join us at the Coffee Shop.
Avalon Stanley is the musical alter-ego of award winning actor, Darryl Hopkins. With his roots stemming firmly from Trinity Bay, he’s performed internationally to sold out audiences. Armed with his trusty acoustic guitar and portable pump organ, his songs speak to the sublime nature of the human experience, and the beauty, therein.
Send us a message, give the shop a call, or drop by to grab tickets ahead of time. We’ll have snacks and drinks available too!

We’re thrilled to welcome Ana & Eric to the shop next Thursday August 13th!
Ana & Eric blend folk, bossa nova, and Brazilian popular music into a sound that is both intimate and rhythmically vibrant. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, the duo has performed widely across Brazil, Europe, and Canada. Life in Newfoundland has deeply shaped their music. The landscape, local culture, and collaborations influence their songwriting, while their Brazilian roots bring distinctive rhythms, harmonies, and lyrical expression. The result is a unique sonic landscape that balances the storytelling intimacy of folk with the dynamic pulse of Brazilian traditions.
Their work has been recognized with multiple accolades: Ana Luisa Ramos won the 2025 ECMA Award in the Global Music category, and the duo received nominations for the 2023 ECMA Global Release of the Year, three 2023 MusicNL Awards, one 2021 ECMA nomination, and three 2021 MusicNL nominations.
Send us a message, give the shop a call, or drop by to grab tickets ahead of time. We’ll have snacks and drinks available too!

If you’ve been here, you’ve likely noticed how passionate we are about where our waste goes. We save all our food scraps to feed our chickens (and you’ve helped us do that!!), our recycling goes to St. John’s on our grocery runs, and all of our organic waste goes into our compost, which eventually nourishes our garden.
We’re proud of the systems we’ve put in place, and we’d love to expand them to our community. How great would it be if we had a community composting system here in Port Rexton/Trinity Bight?
Last year, we joined the NL Composting Cooperative to help make this vision a reality. We’re lucky to have Viviana, a co-founder of the cooperative, joining us this coming Tuesday to inspire us, educate us, and help us imagine what this could look like.
If you’re interested in building healthy soil, reducing what goes to our landfill, and contributing to future food security, pop by on Tuesday at 4pm!
