To our Port Perry community 🤍

Like many small businesses, The Local has faced a very challenging season. This past winter was a difficult one, and despite our best efforts to navigate it, we’ve had to make a very hard decision.

After attempting to negotiate and explore options to remain in our current space, we were unable to commit to continuing in this location.

With that, The Local will be closing its doors on May 15.

This space has always been about more than just a store — it’s been about community, connection, and creating a place where local businesses could grow together. That’s what makes this decision so difficult.

While this chapter is coming to a close, we’re not ruling out the possibility of something in the future. For now, we’re taking the time to step back and figure out what comes next.

To our vendors, customers, and everyone who supported The Local — thank you. You helped build something truly special, and we are incredibly grateful.

We realize that times are difficult for everyone, but If you end up going out to shop, ...please consider shopping at any one of Port Perry’s many wonderful small businesses, and if you do, please also think about visiting us and our lovely vendors, it would really help out before our last days.
