Understanding the stages of labour can help you feel more prepared for the journey ahead:

1️⃣ Early Labour: Contractions begin and your cervix dilates slowly (0-3 cm). This can last several hours or even days.
2️⃣ Active Labour: Contractions become stronger and more regular, with the cervix dilating from 4-7 cm.
3️⃣ Transition: The most intense phase, as the cervix dilates from 8-10 cm, and you prepare for pushing.
4️⃣ Delivery: Time to meet your baby!
5️⃣ Placenta Delivery: The final stage involves the delivery of the placenta.

Every birth is unique, and we’re here to guide you through it.

Positioning During Labour
Changing positions during labour can help progress your labour and reduce discomfort. Try these:
• Standing or walking to use gravity
• Sitting on a birthing ball to open the pelvis
• Hands and knees for back labour relief
• Side-lying to rest while conserving energy

Experiment and find what works best for you.

You might be wondering why we’re stepping away from Meta platforms.💭 Recent changes to moderation policies make these platforms unsafe for vulnerable people, which goes against our commitment to safety and inclusion. We’ll still be here for you—on Bluesky! 🌿
