Drowning in our cars in 2024 should be impossible, right? Yet claims 500 lives each year in the US and thousands more worldwide. It turns out none of the tech in our cars is designed to detect submersion or prevent drowning. Recent high-profile tragedies like the Baltimore Bridge Collapse and the drowning of billionaire CEO Angela Chao in her car have brought the issue into the spotlight, but submersion silently claims lives every day.
There is to exit your car, and the safest way is through the side . Manual tools, like hammers, DO NOT break laminated windows found in modern cars. This is why automated solutions like need to become standard in vehicles, just like seatbelts and airbags.
