October 4-10 marks and this years theme is "Charge Into Fire Safety".
Simple steps you take each day can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires.
🔌 Never charge your electronics on a soft surface; use hard, flat surfaces like a table or desk
♨ If your device is feeling hot, starts to swell or is smelling strange - Stop using it!
đź’» Unplug your device when its fully charged
đź›´ Charge large items like e-scooters, e-bikes and power tools outside, when possible
Focusing on our everyday charging habits can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep our families and our homes safer!
Fire deaths are trending in the wrong direction in Ontario and some of those could have been prevented with working smoke alarms.
It only takes minutes to test your smoke and CO alarms monthly and it could save your life!

Another great reminder about the importance of working smoke alarms in your home!
While the loss of your home and the property in it can be devastating, it doesn't compare to an injury or death caused by a fire.
September 28th is "Test Your Smoke Alarm" day in Ontario. It's a reminder that only a working smoke alarm can help you in a fire.
