⚠️ Viewer discretion advised – Medical image showing a severe burn injury ⚠️
This is the result of a hot water bottle burn on my client’s lower abdomen several weeks after a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) combined with liposuction. Even though the area appears dramatically injured with deep tissue damage, blistering and discoloration, the patient felt almost nothing while it was happening 😳
This is due to nerve damage (neuropraxia or more prolonged sensory loss) that is very common after tummy tuck and liposuction procedures. The nerves supplying sensation to the abdominal skin and underlying tissue are often stretched, cut, or temporarily disrupted during surgery. As a result, patients can have significantly reduced or absent feeling in the treated area for weeks to months — sometimes longer…
Because of this numbness, the patient was unaware that the hot water bottle was causing a serious thermal burn until the damage was already done. Key takeaways for anyone who has had or is planning abdominal contouring surgery 👇
• Never apply heat (hot water bottles, heating pads, hot packs) directly to the surgical area while sensation is still altered
• Always test the temperature on a sensitive area of skin first (like the inner arm or thigh)
• Use a thick towel or cloth barrier and limit contact time
• When in doubt, avoid heat altogether in numb zones — opt for gentle warmth only if cleared by your surgeon
Healing from such burns can be prolonged, especially over surgical scars and compromised tissue. To make things worse, this patient is prone to keloid scarring, which can leave the scar dark and raised.
This case highlights why post-operative instructions about heat and cold therapy must be followed carefully — numb doesn’t mean safe.

Wait… did her “back rolls” actually disappear on one side?
This photo was taken mid-treatment during Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
➡️ The right side of her back is before
➡️ The left side is after just one side was treated
Notice how the treated side already looks smoother, flatter, and less congested.
What many people think is stubborn fat is often fluid congestion and lymphatic stagnation sitting in the tissues. When the lymphatic system is properly stimulated, that trapped fluid can start moving — and the difference can be visible almost immediately.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage can help:
✨ Reduce swelling and fluid retention
✨ Improve body contour and skin smoothness
✨ Support detoxification
✨ Reduce inflammation and heaviness
✨ Enhance post-surgical recovery
And this is only halfway through the session!
Your body already knows how to detox, sometimes it just needs a little help getting things flowing.
Save this if you’ve ever felt like certain areas look “puffy” no matter how much you diet or exercise.
Quizzing my 6yo about all things body contouring. And he may or may not have a mild obsession with ( • )( • )

Non-surgical body contouring is primarily designed to treat stubborn areas of fat that aren’t responding to traditional diet & exercise.
Treatment typically requires a dedicated treatment plan of 6-12 sessions and should be combined with an increased daily water intake (2-3 litres), cardiovascular exercise, and a healthy diet.

Tell ‘em .alex.earle 🗣️
Especially the hip dips. Why? Because, anatomy.
If you want to “fill in” your hip dips, you’ll need fat transfer (possibly multiple rounds if you lack foundation), Sculptra and/or specialty dermal fillers. Vacuum therapy cannot fix hip dips, nor is a Colombian butt lift the equivalent to 2500+ squats 🚫
