Connection Camp
Leadership through healthy relationships, for teens
04/26/2025
Connection Camp 2025 is cancelled due to a shortage of campers. We are going to take some time to process and feel our feelings, and then we're going to decide what our next steps are going to be.
Some things that we are considering:
Weekend mini-camps
A March break camp
A weekend for adults
A long weekend camp
A day camp
Partner with an established camp to be a guest host
Becoming a non-profit
These are all possibilities for 2026.
Connection Camp really believes in community, So we will continue to apply to speak at conferences like the GSA conference, and we will continue working with local partners. If you know of any organizations or groups who could use leadership development activities and play, or some healthy relationship workshops, please do let us know. We are open to suggestions.
Thanks for being here. We appreciate you.

đż Respect is at the heart of Connection Camp. đż
At camp, respect isnât just about being politeâitâs about truly listening, learning from each other, and navigating conflict in healthy ways. Whether itâs through group discussions, team activities, or one-on-one conversations, campers practice:
⨠Conflict resolution skills â learning to express themselves while considering othersâ perspectives.
⨠Open communication â fostering an environment where everyoneâs voice matters.
⨠Mutual learning â recognizing that everyone brings unique experiences and wisdom.
By the end of the week, campers leave not just with new friends, but with a deeper understanding of how to build respect into everyday life. đ

Leadership is not practiced in words, as much as in attitudes and in actions.
- Harold S. Geneen
Have you ever heard the phrase 'actions speak louder than words'? There is a good reason we say that!
You can tell people that you think they are amazing, but if you then proceed to treat them horribly, they are going to remember your actions.
When leading, your confidence and compassion and capabilities will shine through, and that will be what people remember and what inspires them.
Come learn to embody that confidence and leadership at Connection Camp, in August! Check us out at ConnectionCamp.org

How does camp empower teens?
We work on developing skills and traits that will set them up for success in life. We know how much parents worry about making sure their kids will be okay, and we think the same!
Working on things like independence, conflict resolution, and overcoming challenges are just a few ways we help to prepare your teen for life.
If confidence and independence are traits you would love to see in your teen, check us out at ConnectionCamp.org !

Leadership is unlocking people's potential to become better.
- Bill Bradley
Helping people not only recognizes their potential, but reach it, is an important part of being an effective leader. Empower the people around you to become confident in their decisions and trust in themselves. Assisting with others' growth can even contribute to your own growth!

March 14 is International Day of Mathematics.
Or, since its 3/14, its called Pi Day!
This week, we are talking about inclusivity. This month is women's history month, and last month was Black history month, so today we want to highlight Katherine Johnson.
Katherine Johnson grew up in segregated West Virginia, but never let it get in her way. Exceptionally smart from a young age, she graduated high school at 14 and from West Virginia State College at 18 with degrees in math and French.
Katherine went on to work at NASA, with other African-American women in computing. However, her skills in mathematics earned her a place in the Spacecraft Controls Branch, a division that previously only employed white men.
She was critical in the first American manned space missions, with John Glenn specifically requesting that she double check the trajectory that the new digital computers had created.
Without inclusivity, Katherine would not have had the opportunity to get as far as she did, and it would have taken the US longer to get to space.
Being inclusive allows us to see someone's talent and potential instead of what we assume based on characteristics beyond their control.
At Connection Camp, we are inclusive of everyone, because we recognize that there is value in mixed experiences and perspectives. We want everyone to feel welcome!
Check us out at ConnectionCamp.org and see if we are the right camp for your teen!

March 8th is International Women's Day, and it's a day where we celebrate women all over the world, and recognize the work they have done and still have to do to fight for equality.
We remember that we are part of a global sisterhood of ALL women. Regardless of where they are, what their skin colour is, what religion they follow, what their ability level is, or how old they are. Every. Single. Woman. We are sisters, not cis-ters.
We recognize that the fight for equality isn't finished, is nowhere near finished. But we continue to fight for a better and more equal future, because we are a community.
The UN's theme this year is:
"For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."
We continue the work, every day, until we have equality.
