Yesterday, we had the honour of welcoming Inuk Elder Emma Reelis to Genoa, where she generously shared her story and experiences as a survivor of the residential school system in Labrador.

We are deeply grateful to Elder Emma for sharing her experiences, wisdom, and perspective with our team. Her story gave us an important opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect on the ongoing journey of truth and reconciliation.

Thank you, Elder Emma, for spending time with our Genoa team and for sharing your story with such generosity and openness. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

Thank you as well to everyone who joined us in person and virtually and took the time to listen and learn together. 🧡

🍂 Fall Fun with the Genoa Crew! 🎮🎬

Our annual Family & Friends Fall Social was a blast! From games and friendly competition at The Rec Room to enjoying Toy Story 5 on the big screen at Cineplex, we spent the afternoon laughing, connecting, and having fun for all ages.

At Genoa, one of our core values is Live Well, and that means making time for the people and experiences that matter most. Events like this give our crew an opportunity to step away from the everyday, connect outside the workplace, and make memories with the family and friends who support us along the way.
A big thank you to The Rec Room and Cineplex for hosting us, and to all our crew members, families, and friends who joined us and made the day so special!

To infinity and beyond! 🚀💚

For a decade, Home Again Furniture Bank has been helping individuals and families throughout the Northeast Avalon turn houses into homes, providing comfort, dignity, and stability through the power of community.

We're proud to have supported Home Again since day one. Over the past 10 years, our team has contributed through monetary donations, monthly Furniture Friday volunteer shifts, and participation from our senior leaders in the annual Heads Without Beds fundraiser.

We were delighted to attend yesterday’s 10th anniversary celebration and join fellow supporters, volunteers, and community partners in recognizing this incredible milestone!

We’re grateful to be part of a community that believes everyone deserves a place to call home, and to work alongside an organization making such a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations to the entire Home Again team on 10 incredible years! Here’s to continuing to furnish homes, change lives, and build a stronger community together. 🏡💜💚

Today, we recognize World Maritime Day and the people, ideas, and innovation that keep the global maritime industry moving forward. ⚓🌊

This year’s theme, “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,” highlights the importance of turning shared goals and standards into meaningful action across the maritime sector.

At Genoa, we see that action every day: in the people designing ships, solving complex challenges, building skills, and helping shape the future of shipbuilding and marine design.

We’re proud to be part of an industry that connects communities, supports economies, and continues to evolve for a safer, stronger, and more sustainable future.

Happy World Maritime Day!

We loved meeting so many students and future industry professionals at Memorial University’s Career & Graduate School Fair today! 🎓

Our team members Stacey and Jess had a great time connecting with students from Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic, chatting about career paths, opportunities at Genoa, and what it’s like to build a career in North America’s marine industry.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to introduce themselves, ask questions, and learn more about what we do. We’re always excited to meet the next generation of talent and hear about where they hope their careers will take them.

And thank you to Memorial University for another great Career & Graduate School Fair!
