Please note: This is the competition for the Ottawa club location, and is only open to comics in the Ottawa area. For our Toronto location, follow Absolute Comedy Toronto for any future announcements.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

This year, our annual competition, Prove You're a Comic, takes place from July 7th to Aug 9th, 2026.

Every Tuesday, 9 comics start and the top 5 (decided by a panel of judges) perform on Wednesday and Thursday. Winner of the week is determined by audience vote and moves on to the finals.

In the finals, the winner of each week plus one Wild Card/House Pick chosen by the club owner will perform every night. Winner of the competition is determined by audience vote throughout the week.

Grand prize is $500 and a week of paid shows at both Absolute Comedy locations. $250 for second place.

All entrants must be available for their designated preliminary week and Finals Week, Aug 4th - 9th, 2026. Finalists will be compensated for Finals Week.

Submissions are open to comics in the Ottawa area, who have not yet performed regularly at MC or Feature level (at a professional credible club), and were not a finalist in last year's competition.

Deadline for submissions is the end of Sunday, June 14th, 2026.
