“A Day in the Life” with Photographer Sam Stringer Sam Stringer is a fashion designer, photographer, and winery manager from British Columbia. We spoke with her to find out more.

I was incredibly happy to be selected to participate in the Cashmere Competition 2022 held in Toronto in support of breast cancer research. This piece was made entirely of bath tissue and I made the structure for the wings out of grape vines from the Okanagan!

I wanted to create something artistic, powerful, and sustainably focused which is why I used an almost entirely biodegradable material for the wings. This gown was custom created for who I knew immediately I needed to work with for this project, and I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out!

Fabric selection is how I get inspiration for every piece. I can’t complete a design until this crucial step, when I feel the fabric, that’s when the ideas flow. A little sneak peak at some fabric options I’ll be sending for wedding dress 💍
