Canada has a racism problem. There’s a myth Canada doesn’t have a racism problem. If you don’t believe Canada has systemic racism then you should listen to people experiencing racism and pay attention to the news as well as read books on your own.Marginalized people have been sharing their experiences for decades and there’s no shortage of evidence of racism today. Silence is not an option.

The definition of facility under O. Reg. 390/18 does not include the amount of emissions but, the federal program applies to anything above 50 mt or higher. This might mean fewer reporting requirements for companies. We might not know accurate emissions.

The amendments will reduce unnecessary costs and regulatory burden for reporters.

My law teachers at Fleming and at Trent have made it clear that words matter in legislation. My teacher at Trent pointed to a potential change in the Environmental Protection Act as a result of Bill 132 which will fundamentally change environmental law in Ontario. section 14(1) of the EPA might read “if the discharge causes or is likely to cause an adverse effect.” from “if the discharge causes or may cause an adverse effect” this is a major difference. We have until Friday to comment on this.
