Fatal Single Motor Vehicle Collision

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, at approximately 2:48 AM, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers responded to the area of Merrittville Highway and Seburn Road in the City of Thorold for a single motor vehicle collision.

Responding officers located a pick-up truck that had collided with a guardrail. Tragically, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The 24-year-old male was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has taken carriage of the investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009769.

Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to people who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
