One of the biggest reasons your mixes don’t translate outside your studio has nothing to do with your plugins, EQ choices, or mastering chain.

It’s your room.

If your room is exaggerating or hiding certain frequencies, you’re making mix decisions based on inaccurate information. The result? A mix that sounds great in your studio but falls apart in the car, on headphones, or on other speakers.

Before spending thousands on more gear, take a look at your acoustic environment. Proper room treatment and speaker placement can have a bigger impact on your mixes than the next piece of equipment on your wishlist. Room acoustics are just as important as the gear and even if you have nice gear in an untreated space, you won’t get the most from it.

Your room is part of your monitoring system and if you ignore it then essentially you’re mixing blind.
