This is my mom. She’s homeless, battling m**h addiction, and living in a reality where she truly believes her 5 children have been cloned. Today my aunt went searching for her after not seeing her for years, hoping to bless her with some things. My mom didn’t even recognize her.
People who don’t know me always ask why I don’t just “go get her” or “bring her home.” The truth is… I’ve been trying for years. And I still try.
Up until today, I was the only family member walking the worst streets, searching through homeless encampments just to find my mom. There are no words for how heartbreaking it is. Every encounter is different. Sometimes I cry the whole drive home. Sometimes I laugh with her just to survive the pain of it all. Sometimes we argue because I’m angry at what addiction has stolen from her. And sometimes I just sit beside her on the curb and accept the reality in front of me.
But no matter how hard it gets, I will never stop looking for her. I will never stop reminding her that she has a home, a family, and people who love her waiting for her whenever she’s ready.
Addiction doesn’t just destroy one person. It breaks entire families in ways people don’t always understand.
Please say a prayer for my mom tonight. And for every family out there loving someone through addiction and mental illness. ❤️

Thank You very much to the incredible team from Stantec for spending time with us and making a real difference in our community.
Not only did they roll up their sleeves to help prepare and serve a meal for some of our city’s most vulnerable residents, but they also generously donated $500 to support our mission.
Their kindness and commitment will help us continue providing nutritious meals to children, seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness, and working poor families facing hardship.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We are truly grateful for community partners like Stantec who lead with compassion and action. Together, we are making a difference, one meal, one act of kindness, and one life at a time.

“They just want to live that way.” Or “There’s help if they want it.” I hear those words all the time.
The reality is that we just administered Narcan to a person who has been waiting over 6 months for a recovery bed.
Right now, 82 people are on our waitlist. Eighty two people struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, and homelessness. Many are literally fighting for their lives while they wait for help.
We have the land. We have the professionals. We have the plan. What we need is the capacity to help more people.
Imagine if 82 fewer people were on the streets tonight. Imagine 82 families getting their loved ones back.
Real change doesn’t always require a big sacrifice. If just 25% of Moncton or NB supported The Humanity Project 50/50 with $2 a week, together we could build more housing and create more opportunities for recovery.
For many of us, $2 disappears without a second thought.
But when thousands of people contribute that same $2, it becomes housing.
It becomes support.
It becomes recovery.
It becomes hope.
Big problems are solved when enough people decide to help.
