🌹 Made a resolution to play more shows this year. Last year, Opeongo might have seemed a little quieter than we have been in the last few years, but we’ve been busy working away at the 4th and 5th albums, both of which we are excited to show y’all soon. Coming back in good company at with new friends. Excited to share the stage with these talented folks. If you’ve missed us the same way we’ve missed you, we shall see ya’ there. Sendin’ love.🌹

Early Wednesday morning, we had to say goodbye to my dear, sweet Nana. Matriarch seems like too old a word for such a youthful spirit, but that’s what she was among many things. She had that certain wondrous quality; that light that illuminated any room she stepped into. She gave me my love of piano, teaching me not only the foundations, but further teaching me to teach myself and to find the heart of a song worth singing. She gave us love and laughter without limit. Often, I heard people say “They broke the mold when they made Betty Baker!”, but I think they must have fixed the mold just for her, and the rest of us are just a little broken now without her. I love you, Nana. I don’t know just what I believe in when all is said and done, but if there is any sort of afterlife, I bet you’re making heaven laugh and dance and sing. Though he’s probably reluctant, I bet you and Bomps are cutting up a rug. Thank you for who and how you were to all of us. I’ll hear you in every song.

Happy birthday, Liam. We love you and miss you more than you’ll ever get a chance to know. I see you and feel you in all things. Every memory is a blessing and a lesson in living. I am eternally grateful that I got to know you in this life and to know you as I did humbles me deeply. I wrote these songs in part, for you, and in part for me and anyone working through grief. It’s hard to believe you’ve been gone all this time. You are truly a part of my every day - in thought, in joy, in laughter, in tears, in sadness, in memory. Thank you for all that you were and are to so many. Thank you for being my best friend. Here it is, folks. Eventual Mt. Lee. It’s the album I’m proudest of and the one I wish I never had to write. No drums, so we all feel Liam’s absence all the more. They’re hard songs to get through, but they helped. I hope they can help others. and I wrapped this album on my 29th birthday. We recorded it at both and , our last session at Baldwin being THE last session at Baldwin. I’m so blessed to get to work with Aaron as I do and as I did on this album.
