Sackville Rivers Association (SRA) is a nonprofit, registered charitable, volunteer-based community group founded in 1988.

We are concerned with the health of the Sackville River Watershed.

It was a lovely day to ride, walk, or roll on the Sackville Greenway.

The Little Sackville River winds its way from Feely Lake to join the Sackville River, a distance of about 11 kilometres.

The SRA works on a number of waterways in the Sackville River Watershed including the Little Sackville River.

You can always support our work by becoming a volunteer, making a donation, or joining us for our annual Dinner Auction coming up October 17. But get your tickets soon!

A little over a week ago a few volunteers helped out with our last project for the season - fixing up the outflow of Stoney Brook. Thanks to those who came to dig and rearrange rocks for fish habitat.

Just another reminder to tell the government why proposed areas should be protected.

Do you want to see more protected areas in Mi’kma’ki/Nova Scotia? Be a voice for nature! 📣

You can submit your comments and vouch for more protected areas, until July 28. There are currently 13 candidate areas that you can support, and it only takes a few minutes to make an impact.

Protected areas safeguard Nova Scotia’s unique biodiversity, including diverse ecosystems and native species, such as Mainland Moose, Atlantic Salmon, rare lichens, and many others.

At home and abroad, habitat loss is the leading threat to biodiversity. But protected areas can make a real and lasting impact. By helping protect these 13 candidate sites, together, we’d be protecting 1,946 hectares of the woodlands, lakes, barrens and rivers that Nova Scotia’s wildlife call home.

Have your say: submit your comments before Tuesday, July 28, and be a voice for nature.

ID: image is of an adorable pine marten, hanging out on a white pine tree branch in a healhty old growth forest, most likely, since that's where these critters prefer to live. Honestly, what pine marten isn't absolutely adorable? The word caption sits in a green circle that says "Protected Areas Consultation: There are 13 candidate areas that your comments can help protect. Have your say by Tuesday, July 28."
