On May 28, GuardMe joined Georgian College to officially open the GuardMe Student Success and Care Centre at the Barrie campus.

Made possible in part by GuardMe’s contribution, the centre brings key student supports together in one welcoming space, making care easier to find, easier to access, and easier to trust.

This milestone reflects more than 20 years of partnership with Georgian College and a shared belief in supporting students as whole people. From accessibility and learning support to immigration advising, co-op consulting, and testing services, the centre creates clearer pathways for students to access support earlier and with greater confidence.

Student success is shaped by more than what happens in the classroom. It is shaped by whether students feel seen, supported, and able to ask for help before they are overwhelmed.
We are proud to continue working alongside Georgian College to help build systems of care rooted in prevention, partnership, and real student experience.

🌟 What an incredible week at NAFSA 2026 in Orlando! 🌴✨

As we wrap up our time at the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo, the GuardMe team is heading home with a profound sense of gratitude, inspiration, and a renewed commitment to the international education community.

This year’s conference served as a powerful reminder that the ways we support international students must never be accidental: they must be designed with intention, purpose, and care.

Our Executive Director of Clinical Excellence and Strategy, Christina Furtado, took the stage alongside Dr. Lokesh Shivakumaraiah from Mississippi Valley State University to co-host the session "Every Interaction Matters: Transforming Campus Mental Health for International Students."

Together, they invited educators and administrators to move away from strictly crisis-driven, reactive referral models and move toward proactive, human-centered care.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in the room, stopped by to connect with the GuardMe team, or booked a conversation to explore how we can better support campus communities together.

Mental health needs do not exist separately from physical health or insurance coverage. GuardMe integrates mental health support directly within its insurance and benefits ecosystem for both international and domestic students. This includes access to virtual care, navigation support, and complementary services that help students understand where to turn and how to access care.

With this holistic model, institutions reduce fragmentation and offer students consistent and coordinated support. This approach supports early access, helps ease pressure on campus services, and contributes to student wellbeing across the full academic journey.
