Why I made Wilderness Shield: Well I can’t really tell you why 😉… Launching a product in Canada is an incredibly strict process. We chose to register Wilderness Shield as a fully compliant, all-natural outdoor botanical body spray (a cosmetic) because we wanted to bring it to market quickly without cutting corners on ingredient safety. It all started when my wife and I travelled to a hot, humid tropical country several months ago and we wanted to be extra cautious about what we used on our bodies. We really dislike heavy, synthetic chemical sprays, but we couldn’t find a clean, plant-based option to keep us comfortable while outdoors. After deep-diving into plant science, we developed a recipe featuring Lemon Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Lavender, and Peppermint - essential oils famous for their protective and defensive properties in the wild. We could not be happier with the result and we are so excited to share it with you!

*New Lower Price!* So this has a bit of a story... We launched Tofino Spa in April and it was immediately HUGELY popular. So much so that we sold out of our batches several times over… so much so that we not only used up all of our Organic Juniper (which is a huge part of the recipe) but also all of our WHOLESALE SUPPLIER’S organic Juniper who said they couldn’t source any more at this time. The only other supplier of certified organic juniper in Canada was over double the price and most other suppliers (even internationally) were either untrustworthy (we ask for a lot of paperwork and cross check to verify the certified organic accreditation) or also very expensive. We temporarily had to increase the price of Tofino Spa because of this…. BUT there’s a happy ending! We were able to find a family-owned farm in Bulgaria that offered wholesale Organic Juniper that is lab tested and EU Organic Certified at a reasonable price and now we are happy to announce that Tofino Spa is now $44.95 - $5 LOWER than it’s original launch price!
