🚨 SCAM AWARENESS: THE “ZOOM LINK” SCAM 🚨

BBI Investigations was recently targeted by this scam — and we want other businesses to be aware.

Scammers are becoming increasingly convincing. One tactic involves sending what appears to be a legitimate Zoom meeting invitation or link, often accompanied by a believable message about a business meeting, client consultation, interview, or other professional matter.

⚠️ Don’t click unfamiliar meeting links without verifying them first.

Before joining an unexpected Zoom meeting:

🔎 Verify who sent the invitation.
📧 Check the sender’s email address carefully — not just the displayed name.
📞 If you weren’t expecting the meeting, contact the person through a trusted phone number or existing communication channel.
🔗 Be cautious with links in unexpected emails or messages.
🔐 Never provide passwords, verification codes, banking information, or other sensitive information through an unsolicited meeting request.
💻 Keep your operating system, browser, and security software updated.

The important lesson: Even if a message looks professional, don’t assume it’s legitimate.
