The City of Maple Ridge has a number of Advisory Committees that provide opportunities for citizens to become more actively involved in their community. Currently, there are positions available on the following Committees -

- Environmental Advisory Committee
- Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility & Inclusiveness
- Public Art Steering Committee
- Social Policy Advisory Committee

Maple Ridge Named NAIOP ‘Most Business Friendly Municipality’ For Third Year. Maple Ridge was recognized by the Metro Vancouver chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) due to the two bylaws underway which could grow potential employment land.

Shaw Communications has approached the City of Maple Ridge with an offer to install free public Wi-Fi at various indoor and outdoor civic facilities. Public consultation Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Council Chambers.

City Launches Community Consultation on Preserving Hammond Heritage Character Starting in early 2018, the City will seek public feedback on the best ways to preserve the heritage character of Hammond.

Third Annual Scarecrows-A-Plenty

Stroll around Downtown Maple Ridge to see beautifully decorated Scarecrows. Over 40 businesses in Downtown Maple Ridge are decorating their scarecrows. You can vote online here or at your favourite scarecrow or by leaving donations, either non-perishable items or cash, by entering your information on the ballots provided by the business you like the most.

All donations will go to the Friends In Need Food Bank.

Prizes will be handed out for the most nominations and most food donations. 2 of the voters will also win prizes.

Last year 807 lbs of food was donated along with over $227.
