Slow but steady — our jackpot has now climbed past $12,000.
Can we really reach $75,000 by September 12? Our saintly crew is counting on it.
And let’s be honest… the chance to walk away with over $6,000 is pretty appealing.

Betty from BC SPCA (BCSPCA)
and Elvis from BC SPCA Nanaimo
are being introduced slowly. Both are doing great, Elvis is a valued member of our goat herd, Betty is the new addition still learning where she fits in within the group. Don't let her small stature fool you, Betty is an absolute powerhouse. She gives everyone a run for their money for sure! Eventually all of our goats will be one bug happy family. Sometimes it just takes a little longer 😉

Charlotte is 17 years old. She has arthritis and renal disease. Our kidney cat protocol includes giving subcutaneous fluids (called Lactated Ringers Solution) on a schedule. Charlotte receives this every other day.
Renal disease often leads to a dehydration cycle where the kidneys are too damaged to save water, which leads to weakness, a buildup of toxins, and further organ damage. Giving LRS helps to combat this, keeping cats feeling better, longer.

Queenie passed away yesterday.
Queenie was one of 8 babies we rescued back in 2017. She is the 6th loss of the group (not including Lilo, their momma). Queenie had a thymoma (chest mass) and the only treatment for this is steroids. Steroids are very hard on a body, they run down the immune system. Queenie developed a respiratory infection and we saw on repeat x-rays there was a pocket of something (fluid?air?) in the mass itself. We tried antibiotics but Queenie was unable to recover. We made the decision to let her go peacefully this afternoon.
Queenie was especially close to her sister Maya, and adored her previously deceased sister Thumper and honorary brother Sheldon.
We lost mom Lilo first, followed by Willow, Thor, Suzie, Jan, and Thumper. Just Maya and Dolly remain 😭

Two weeks into our 50/50 raffle and we’re chugging along. The jackpot is already at $6,560, and we still have six weeks to make it grow. Imagine the excitement if we hit $70,000 and someone walks away with $35,000 — what an incredible win that would be.
If you are new to our page and our sanctuary here is a little bit of info: Our sanctuary is funded entirely by the public. This support covers ongoing veterinary care, feed, facility supplies, and the repairs and maintenance required to keep our shelter running. Fundraisers like this 50/50 raffle help us meet the continual costs of caring for more than 90 animals on site, along with another 30 living in permanent foster homes.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who purchases a ticket. Your participation directly improves the lives of the animals who depend on us every day.
