Making time for yourself
A lot of patients come in saying they havenāt done their exercises because they havenāt had time. I get it. Iām absolutely terrible at making time for myself. Being a new parent takes a lot out of me and I feel like most days I do the bare minimum. But I know that I need to spend more time on things that are beneficial to my health - both mentally and physically.
Whether itās stretching and exercising, meditation, time with your family, or playing the occasional video game, itās important to make time for you to relax and reset.
So how do you āmake timeā?
To me that means finding a way to make your goal more of a priority. Here are some tips that might help get you there:
- Write your goal down and follow up
- Start your day a bit earlier and do your activity before work
- Tell your significant other or a friend your plan and have them make sure you stick to it
- Reassure yourself that it doesnāt have to be perfect, you just need to start
- Try to remember that nothing is more important than your health, both physical and mental
These are just a few suggestions, let me know if thereās anything else that works for you!

I crack my own back, isnāt that the same?!
The simple answer is no but the reasoning takes some explaining. When someone self adjusts (using a hand to push your chin to the side, leaning over a chair, grabbing the doorframe and twisting your back) the joints that are moving/adjusting are the ones that are already moving well and donāt take much force to do so. This might feel good and provide temporary relief, but the joints that are causing you to feel stiff in the first place are unlikely to adjust with the above mentioned movements. Chiropractic adjustments are meant to target the joints that need to move the most and not just the ones that are happy to do so every time you want them to.
If youāre looking for longer lasting relief and a treatment thatās specific to your issue, try seeing a Chiropractor

I donāt have the best relationship with social media š
The above thoughts are all ones Iāve had about using social media, especially for work. I use it regularly but hardly ever post.
It is so much easier to just consume and not worry about competing with all the other content, and there is a ton of content out there.
I also have a hard time with the potential notion that curating an engaging Instagram account is what will make people think Iām a better Chiropractor. Iām not great at posting content, but I do think Iām really good chiropractor, instagram aside. š¤·
Is social media really the best way to convey to people how well I can treat them and improve their symptoms?
I donāt know the answer to that but I do know that social media and content creation are not easy for everyone. If you struggle like I do, just know youāre not alone and I hope you can find a balance that suits you.

Weāre opening soon!
Hello patients of MyoMove!
Yes itās been that long. March 16th was our last day of operations before the COVID-19 pandemic required us to close our doors. But.....
We are very excited to announce that the Ministry of Health has lifted the directive for emergent care only. This means that all of our practitioners can gradually and cautiously return to providing you with the health care needs you have placed on hold for over two months now.
The summer months will look different and we will be proceeding to practice safely and with new protocols in place to ensure our and our patients safety.
Here are some of the changes to expect when you come for your appointment:
- Practitioners will be wearing masks at all times.
- Hand sanitizer and masks will be provided for each patient as you enter (feel free to bring / wear your own mask if you have one).
- There will be signage on the walls and floors directing you to maintain social distancing in the common areas.
- Treatment rooms may look & feel emptier and this is to reduce items that can be contaminated or infected and ensure all surfaces can be wiped down between patients.
Please keep in mind that hours will be reduced as this is a gradual return to work for Health Care Practitioners.
We will be in touch with all patients whose appointments were previously cancelled for rescheduling.
PLEASE ARRIVE AS CLOSE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME AS POSSIBLE TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF PATIENTS IN THE RECEPTION AREA.
We look forward to resuming care and thank everyone for their continued support during these new and changing times!
*Individual counselling services will remain virtual for the summer months. Please contact Moyer&Co. directly to schedule these services.
*We are very sad to share that Victoria, RMT The Elephant In The Womb will not be returning right away as she is recovering from elbow surgery but looks forward to practicing again this summer!
