🌳Nature Preservation Areas🦌
May 31 to June 6 is Environment Week, which means our Enforcement Officers are focusing patrols and enforcement efforts in and around Nature Reserves and preservation areas throughout the parks system, in the City of Lethbridge. These sensitive areas are safe havens for an abundance of plants and wildlife that make up the natural ecosystem that surrounds the Old Man River. Our goal is to protect these designated areas by reducing high impact activities.
Under both the Animal Care and Control Bylaw and the Parks Bylaw for the City of Lethbridge, no domestic animals, including dogs, are permitted to be in a Nature Reserve or preservation area at any time. Dog owners are reminded to be aware of signage and restricted areas when out with their pets.

Pet license fees helping to create communities that are safe, happy, and healthy for people and pets.
This new mom was impounded last week in relation to a bylaw complaint in a west side neighborhood. Just a few days after her arrival, she gave birth to three kittens who would otherwise have been born outdoors, likely leading to continued breeding and adding to the stray population.
The cute little family will be vaccinated, sterilized, microchipped and adopted through the Lethbridge Animal Shelter.
City of Lethbridge pet license fees are used to support animal shelter operations.
