It’s that time of year where we are full of birthdays at our house. We celebrate three birthdays in our house plus are nephew. All within 14 days.

What you get when you get me - an overly prepared cake artist. 😉

I have a lot of amazing clients. Sometimes I get a client who puts a lot of trust in my hands when it comes to design.

This particular cake were those trusting clients.

I was given many guidelines and details about what the wedding would look like. And we did decide on a lot of the flowers and shape together. But ultimately I knew these clients would trust me with the end design.

In the weeks leading up to the wedding I followed the florist on social media. And in one of their sneak peaks of flowers I saw a pop of blue - we’d never talked about blue. But in the sneak peak it stood out to me that if I missed the blue, I’d miss this match in the flowers.

So, I started adding just a few blue flowers into what I was making.

Well we got to the venue to deliver, no blue in the flowers.

But that is why you hire an overly prepared and overly organized cake artist 😉. I was prepared for this moment. I made the blue as a nice matching surprise if the blue ended up on the arrangements. I came prepared with extra of the rest of the flowers if it didn’t. 😉.

I loved both options as we arranged and viewed the flowers on the cake. The best choice was the final result. The one that matched the florals to a tee.
