tri-Pride
tri-Pride Is a community pride organization that strives to celebrate diversity in the Kitchener-Waterloo, & Cambridge region.
🌈 THE LIGHT IS HERE 🌈
AND, it’s been an especially difficult lead up to Pride in the Park this year. Between a smaller leadership team, reduced funds & increased community unmet needs; we’ve done our very best for you Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge. With humility, we know we haven’t done everything as well as we wish. Despite that, we think we’ve poured our entire selves, hearts, souls, time & wallets into honouring 30 years of tri-city Pride. We wanted to share a short behind the scenes video to give you a glimpse into the journey to today!
The weather has turned in our favour and we can’t wait to celebrate, protest, and gather with you in a few moments.
With you, in darkness & in light, to the best of our abilities! Thank you for being here with us!
Gratitude to Aubrey for stitching this video together for us!
Together, we shine! 🤎

GOOD MORNING KITCHENER, WATERLOO & CAMBRIDGE! ITS PRIDE DAY!
🩷
As we do the finishing touches in the park; we felt it important to share who your 2026 SUMMERFEST team is! For a while now we’ve been feeling like it’s critical that our community knows who we are - as people and as your neighbours, friends, family members and colleagues. Many seem to think that tri-Pride Board Members are paid staff and have the capacity of employees. We’re flattered but you should know that this organization has always been held up by volunteers. From our small and mighty volunteer board to the community members that support in bringing events to life — for almost 30 years, tri-Pride has been volunteer run and grassroots oriented.
🩵
Meet the volunteer board members that devote their evenings and weekends to local Pride organizing because Pride is identity; Pride is our stories of pain and becoming. Pride is our practice of hope, solidarity, and connection. This team starts planning for SUMMERFEST back in December from inviting sponsors that enable us to offer a free space to our community to filing permits, engaging talent, mobilizing community and so much more.
🤎
Also meet the artists and creatives who have shared countless hours, materials, talents, and space with us to bring our vision of THE LIGHT IS COMING to life in the space.
🖤
You can find your tri-Pride team on Saturday in tri-Pride shirts and Melissa and Mandy with cameras wrapped around them running around! Say hi, share your gratitude and offer your support wherever possible. We can’t wait to see you, meet you and celebrate with you!
Photography by our very own Kamil. As you can see, we all wear lots of hats!
It’s the night before Pride and in true tri-Pride tradition, we’re taking a small break from running around, completing tasks, preparing materials, picking up and dropping off things, sending emails and such to enjoy a beautifully q***r story read by our very own, Stephanie.
We hope this beloved book by one of our heroes and idols, Kai Cheng Thom: From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea offers you and your chosen families as much joy, calm & comfort as it does to us. Amidst all the work, we are reminded with humility and remind each other what this is all about and that is the freedom to be exactly who we are and to be seen, heard, held & loved in it.
Tomorrow, we hope we can offer the same feelings to you.
With you in darkness & in light, to the best of our abilities,
- your tri-Pride team 🤎
