Almost 23,000 hours later and we are growing into a new company.

Founded in 2019, we started Agrisea to build on a belief that we could solve world hunger by growing crops in the ocean. Sounds kind of crazy, and perhaps it was. Yet, today we have developed the most salt-tolerant rice plant on the planet which we can now use to start fighting world hunger head on. With these varieties we can begin to restore the most salt-damaged regions that cover the world, enriching harvests spanning continents.

ALORA is a natural evolution for us, for all the work we have put into ocean agriculture, we came to acknowledge the transformative power of this technology. Beyond the capability to improve food production, but to also help humanity in the fight against climate change, to establish a new ideal for society. We thrive on this potential and we dedicate our company to changing the world.

Supporting us in this endeavour are two titans of our field, Mistletoe, Inc. and TOYOTA Ventures. With their funding support in an oversubscribed $1.4 million round, the depth of knowledge spanning across industries, and the strength of their belief in a future we believe in building, we know the future will be bright.
