Anthony and I truly appreciate your friendship, kind words, and ongoing support for our new small business💈❤️💇🏻‍♂️🙏🏻✂️

Stopped by my friend's new barbershop in Georgina this morning, and it got me thinking about what small businesses really represent in our communities.

This one hit a little different.

Anthony’s story starts with his father, who came to Canada from Italy and built a life cutting hair in places like Scarborough, Markham, and later Newmarket. Years of hard work, long days, and taking care of people — one customer at a time.

Now Anthony and his wife Bonnie are carrying that forward and building something of his own.

With Bonnie's permission - a few years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer, and has undergone treatment. Her resilience and strength has brought "The Dapper Den" to fruition.

Her story should deliver hope and positivity for everyone that is able to hear her story.

That’s what small business is. It’s not just a storefront. It’s sacrifice, family, risk, and belief in one's self and the community.

When we talk about growth in East Gwillimbury, this is exactly what it should be creating more of. Opportunities for people who believe in themselves to build something, stay local, and serve the communities they’re part of.
