Today, we have launched the FVRD - Emergency Management Organization page to support a dedicated page for official FVRD emergency preparedness, response, and recovery information.
Follow www.facebook.com/FVRD.EMO/ for FVRD emergency incident updates and preparedness information.
With eight electoral areas in the FVRD it is important that electoral areas not involved in an emergency incident have a platform to communicate FVRD information. The FVRD page will still be used for corporate messages including FVRD news, services, projects, programs, and community information.
For detailed emergency incident information, visit www.fvrd.ca/eoc
[SERVICE ALERT 🚨] The Hope Library has closed early today (Aug 21). Apologies for any inconvenience.

When you are on evacuation alert it is easy to get used to it and forget to… well… be alert.
Think about:
• Every time you leave your house to go to an area that is not under Evacuation Alert you run the risk that the Evacuation Order will happen while you are away and you won’t be allowed back. That means you take your bag and your children with you.
• Arrange for transportation if you don’t own a car. Who will give you a ride?
• Make a deal with your neighbour to take each others pets if the Order to evacuate comes when you are out. And then don’t be away at the same time as your neighbour. Do you have a pet carrier? Is it at the door?
• Evacuations can even happen in the middle of the night so have shoes at the door and gas in the car.
• Consider moving out the things you love most now. Take your photos, granny’s dishes, Christmas ornaments, and artwork to a friends house now.
• Pack your go-bag and keep it at the door or in the car.
