🌧️🏉 Mud, rain, cold weather… must mean rugby season is officially back in Hamilton 🐝

This past weekend had all the classic muddy spring weather from start to finish — and everyone embraced it.

Both our Senior Men and Senior Women were on the road Saturday, taking on the Stoney Creek Camels Rugby Club, and both squads came away with big wins to kick off their regular seasons.

A huge start to the year for both teams!

Sunday saw our U14 Boys & Girls travel to Burlington, where the wet weather continued, but so did the smiles, muddy jerseys, and great rugby. Huge thank you to Burlington Centaurs Rugby Football Club for hosting the kids for a fantastic day on the pitch 🙌

And of course… what better way to celebrate the U14 Boys Man of the Match performance than with a legendary shoey 👟😂

Pulborough RFC’s Senior Men will be taking on a mixed Hornets Alumni & Senior Men’s squad in what promises to be a great evening of rugby, reconnecting old teammates, welcoming new faces, and celebrating the game 🐝

🍔🍻 The social starts immediately after the match at The Hornets’ Nest with food and drinks available for purchase. Come out, support the boys, meet our touring guests, and enjoy a great night of rugby and club spirit.

The Senior Men kicked things off with a strong win over Norfolk last weekend💪
The Senior Women battled it out against a travelling South Buffalo side in a hard-fought match against a team already deep into their season 🔥

And we’re not slowing down…

This weekend we’re back at it at Waterford District High School as both Senior teams take on the Norfolk Harvesters once again — with the 🍯 Honey Pot Trophy on the line!

Momentum is building, the season is near, and the Hornets are buzzing 🐝

The Hornets were proud to be out at Mohawk Sports Park for our Spring Cleanup in honour of Earth Day — getting The Nest ready for another big outdoor season 💛🖤

With the season just around the corner, it was awesome to see our players, members, and community come together to help keep our park clean and safe for everyone 🏉

Huge thank you to Kevin Gonci and the Mohawk Sports Council for organizing such a great community initiative, and to Councillor Tom Jackson, MPP Monica Ciriello, and MP Lisa Hepfner for their support in making it a success 🙌

Here’s to a cleaner park, a stronger community, and a season ahead full of rugby 🐝🌱
