TrueCity Hamilton

One of the churches that we’re praying for this month is the “newest” addition to our TrueCity network - Harmony Baptist Church.

As you spend time in prayer for them, here are some specific ways that you can be praying:

* Pray for the new people God is bringing into their church family, primarily new Canadian families who have recently immigrated, young adults from local universities, and couples who are retiring to the area. Please pray that all would feel welcome, and that the leadership would steward this growth with humility, wisdom and open hearts.

* Pray for Pastor Susan’s continued health and renewed strength as she has returned from a medical leave. We praise God for this wonderful news and pray for her as she gradually reconnects with the areas of ministry she oversees.

* Pray that God would raise up the people and resources needed for the year ahead with the various ministries the the church runs, and that they would recognize where God is already at work and have the courage and faith to follow Him.

And please come and join us at Harmony Baptist Church (1763 Upper James St) on Sunday, October 18 at 10:30am as we celebrate their TrueCity partnership in their morning service.

Over the last few years, we’ve been in the rhythm of praying for two different TrueCity churches each month, and we will be starting this up again in October, but we’re ADDING SOMETHING NEW this year which we’re quite excited about!!

On the first Monday of each month, there will be an opportunity for people to gather together over the lunch hour to pray for each of the focussed churches. Our first time together will be next Monday — October 5 — at the Perkins Centre (1429 Main St E) from noon until one. We will be praying for Harmony Baptist Church and First Hamilton CRC and would love for others to come and join us.

WEEK OF PRAYER - September 6-13!

We’re excited about the MANY in-person opportunities for prayer that will be happening around our city during the upcoming Week of Prayer.

Maybe there’s a local issue that you’ve been really feeling burdened for. Or maybe there’s a church that you’ve been meaning to visit but haven’t yet had the chance to.

This Week of Prayer is a beautiful opportunity to join others in the city to listen and learn about the various needs that exist, and then to spend some time in prayer for these things. We hope you will join us for this meaningful time together as a family of churches in Hamilton.
