✨ At CATS, “therapy” often looks like play! Whether it’s building towers, swinging, or doodling with chalk, every activity is carefully designed to help kids grow their skills while having fun. 🧩💪

This beautifully illustrated book helps children understand and express their emotions. It's a fantastic tool for teaching kids about self-regulation! It explores different emotions through colorful characters and relatable scenarios.

Read it with your child and talk about the ways they can manage feelings like anger, sadness, or excitement.

Self-regulation isn’t about pushing emotions away; it’s about understanding them, responding mindfully, and finding healthy ways to manage them.

At CATS, we use a variety of techniques to support children in building their self-regulation skills. In our clinic, we provide a calm, sensory-friendly environment designed to help children learn how to manage their emotions and behaviors.
We offer:
✔️ Sensory integration therapy to help kids process sensory input
✔️ Calming spaces to practice relaxation techniques
✔️ Play-based activities that teach coping skills and emotional awareness
Our goal? To help each child learn to self-regulate so they can navigate daily challenges with more confidence and control.

Here’s a tip to practice co-regulation at home:
Stay Calm: Your child mirrors your emotional state, so take a deep breath and model calmness when they’re upset.

Use Gentle Touch: A comforting hand on the back or a hug can help children feel secure and help calm their nervous system.

Validate Their Emotions: Acknowledge how they’re feeling (“I can see you’re really upset right now”) and reassure them that it’s okay to feel those emotions.
By co-regulating, you’re teaching your child how to recognize and manage their feelings, making it easier for them to eventually self-regulate independently!
