Captivating story of the Treetop Flyer!
It's been said that Willie Dixon would sit down and eat a whole chicken before a gig. He would let starving musicians sit at his table for band meetings while he ate and never offered a morsel. He reaped royalties on "My Babe" which he wrote for Little Walter and turned it into a #1 R&B single. Turns out the song shares the exact melody of Sister Rosetta Tharp's gospel song, "This Train (Is Bound For Glory)" go figure... Anyhow Dixon left a ton of music for us today and his material was used by the bands of the British Invasion.
