How awesome has this summer been?

We were so happy to welcome back so many international rafters this year! The water levels were epic almost the whole summer and our team had a wonderful time taking all of the new and returning rafters down the Kicking Horse River

What a wonderful time of year to head out on the Kicking Horse River for a bit of whitewater rafting!

The river is that gorgeous glacial blue, the air is fresh and bright, and the rapids are fun and technical!

Did you know rafting on the Kicking Horse River is one of the top family activities for Golden, BC?

Finding things to do with kids while travelling can sometimes be a bit difficult but we're here to help.

Our Family Adventure trip starts in Yoho National Park in the morning and continues down the Kicking Horse River to our private Riverside BBQ spot. Everyone gets to enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch before returning back to our base.

Afterwards the whole family can head over to the Golden Skybridge and have fun on the huge playground in the beautiful plaza then choose your adventure as you go over both bridges.

The next morning head up to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and take the Grizzly Bear interpretive tour to see and learn more about Boo the resident bear.

It's definitely worth a visit during the last blast of summer.

Are you a geology buff?

Rafting the Kicking Horse River gives you a close up look at some of the natural wonders of Yoho National Park and the west end of the Canadian Rockies.

Limestone Dolomite sedimentary rock faces show the folding that occurred during the Laramide orogeny, between 80 million and 55 million years ago. During this period the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate collided causing the mountains to form and start to fold in on themselves like pushing the edge of a rug along the floor.

Seeing all of those layers up close as you raft pass is a humbling experience. Nature in all of its majestic glory.

P.S. We provide wetsuit, wetsuit boots, life jacket and helmet to everyone who rafts with us plus some extra layers if the weather is a bit cooler. The Kicking Horse River is brisk when you get splashed but we make sure you stay as warm as possible while you're on the raft.⁠
