September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Yesterday, community members gathered to create Attachment Hearts, meaningful symbols that honour resilience and hope. Through stitching orange fabric and incorporating sage, each heart represents the importance of caring relationships, emotional well-being, and community.
As we listen to the truths of Indigenous Peoples and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools, we remain committed to learning, reflection, and reconciliation.

🌿 What happens when you take the Library beyond its walls?
For Betsy, one of the most memorable experiences of serving on the Halton Hills Public Library Board was being part of the launch of Tales on the Trails, a partnership with Credit Valley Conservation and Orangeville Public Library that brings books into nature and creates an opportunity for families to read, explore and enjoy the outdoors together.
It’s one example of what Betsy says she’s come to appreciate even more as a Board member: the Library is truly a community hub — an inclusive, welcoming and free resource for everyone.

Discover the imaginative world of artist Jim Paterson, whose intricate sculptures transform twisted wire into captivating scenes inspired by childhood memories, storytelling, and everyday life.
Celebrate the exhibition's opening reception on Thursday, September 24, from 6 - 8 p.m., where you can meet the artist and learn more about his unique creative process.
Then, on October 3, join us at the Helson Gallery at 10 a.m. for a special storytime featuring Jim's picture book Saturday Morning, followed by an interactive opportunity to explore and play with The Storytelling Machine sculpture.
