Very impressive post from SJBIN and highly recommend there programs for
DTI MRI Scans illustrating Brain injury as a disorder of connectivity (see attached photo); therefore, you burn up more "mental gas" doing the same easy tasks as before. This can lead to "cognitive fatigue" and stress is more difficult to manage when tired... so stay aware, ask for help, and take restful breaks

Book Club last week was an incredible success as we had participants from four different time zones.
We had a chance to review the Forward and Author’s Note from The Ghost In My Brain by Clark Elliot, Ph.D.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us kick start this amazing book. The Zoom link is available at https://www.concussioncarestudio.com/

Are You Struggling With Attention, Motivation or Organization?
Together we can support each other to move through barriers, set goals and achieve progress. Monday morning we organize our week based on three principles for success: 1) Simplicity, 2), Repetition, 3) Reward - with an option to report back a success each week for accountability and support.
For the price of a coffee each week, you can give yourself an opportunity for success. Classes begin January 9th/2023. If you would benefit from support and accountability, please reach out.

Congratulations! ✨✨✨
Take a moment to congratulate yourself on your accomplishments over 8 weeks of Mindful Movements & Goal Setting. This email felt so good to write and I hope this email is received as a blessing for how much growth we have made as a TEAM.
In Eight Weeks we have completed: 32 Kundalini Yoga or chair Yoga sessions, MELT method, 32 dynamic warm up routines, Gait exercises, 230 walks, weekly sessions at the gym, meditation and TBI specific guided meditation, 24 lifts and curls, marching and uphill walking, changing meal times, adding plant based meals, adding protein, and 20 hours of Adaptive Mindful Movement as a TEAM.
Feldenkrais exercises, Qigong exercises & hip abduction/extensions exercises and surgery preparation. 12 Hikes, including hikes in the Rocky Mountains. A 5 KM Colour Me Rad Race, Cycling Ride that was 24 Miles long, Beep Test for both aerobic and anaerobic exercise endurance, and enrolment in a University Speech Therapy Program and completion of EMDR treatment schedule.
We have supported each other through appointments: Physical Therapist, Optometrist, Neuro-Optometrist, Kinesiologist, Physician, Psychological Testing (Neuro Psych), and Support Groups, Alonon Support Groups.
👉🏼 We also coined a new term for the TBI/Stroke/NeuroInclusive Community- “jocking or wagging” - a mix of walking and jogging after an injury.
🎉 Congratulations on the wedding of Michael and Helen, thank you for sharing the great news and sharing your love with the group.
Thank you everyone for participating and thank you Shelby; you are a rock and an anchor for the success of everyone on the TEAM. Thank you for creating a special event for the group and being such a huge part of the structure of SUPPORT and SUCCESS.
Embrace the post injury growth and celebrate the teamwork! When we go forward as a group or team we CREATE a low margin for error and we create a high opportunity for success.
Congratulations,
Michelle Goin
