October 5th is International Teachers' Day! Today, we celebrate the hard work CCI-LEX teachers put into their classes and all the love they put into their teaching ❤

Beyond the classroom, we look for our students to create a sense of community and belonging in Canada. That is why we include cultural activities as part of the CCI-LEX experience.

This time, our students and teachers visited Fort Edmonton Park to learn more about Indigenous cultures during the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Join CCI-LEX at the Resource Connect 2026 fair! Meet the organizations helping Edmontonians every day.

Discover services, programs, and opportunities as we celebrate a Legacy of Stories, Strength, and Connection.

📅Thurs, Oct 22, 2026

⏰10 AM – 4 PM

📍Edmonton Convention Centre

This event is 100% free! 💡RSVP for reminders: https://RC2026General.eventbrite.ca

Every year on September 30th, Canada observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Since 2021, this day recognizes and honours Residential School Survivors, their families, and those who never returned home. You can be part of this reconciliation movement by wearing an orange shirt as a symbol of hope for a better future and acknowledgement of the history and impact Residential Schools had on First Nations communities.

Our students learn about these events, Canada's history, and Indigenous peoples of Canada in class, but we also offer special activities to deepen their understanding of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; this year, they participate in the Indigenous Peoples Experience at Fort Edmonton Park.

Susanne started her journey at CCI-LEX as a volunteer teacher. Now, she is back with a special project: the Women’s Club.

Early this year, the Women’s Club opened its sessions every Friday: a space where our students can talk and share their experiences freely and learn about more than language skills.
