Back-to-school season is here! Want to up your study game? Try switching up your study space. A quiet spot at the Edmonton Public Library can be a great place to get some work done, or find a space that works for you—whether that’s a cozy corner, a café, or somewhere outside.
And did you know YESS has computers and workstations available for our youth? 💻
A good study space can make all the difference. Find what works for you, put on your favourite playlist, and take it one assignment at a time.

In 2025–2026, 746 youth accessed YESS programs and services—and 24% more youth turned to us compared to the year before.
Together, we provided:
🏠 18-day average stay
🥗 21,900+ meals & snacks
💬 240 counselling sessions
Behind every number is a young person finding safety, support, and someone to believe in them.

This August, we’re highlighting Planned Giving and remembering the lasting impact of people like Brad.
Brad knew what it meant to rely on the kindness of others. As a young person, he travelled across Canada and the U.S., meeting others along the way who were struggling without a safe place to call home.
Those experiences stayed with him. Later in life, Brad quietly supported YESS, believing in the resilience of youth and that sometimes, a little support is all someone needs to shine.
After Brad passed, his wife Kathy discovered that YESS was one of the causes he had quietly supported. Today, she continues that support in his memory.
We’re so grateful to Kathy for sharing Brad’s story and helping carry forward his belief that everyone needs a little help sometimes.

We know our youth have different lifestyles and different needs, so we offer secure storage bins where they can safely keep belongings they don’t need with them right away—like winter coats, extra clothes, and personal items.
When they need them, they can access their things anytime.
It’s one small way we can help make life a little easier.

A huge thank you to The Canadian Athletic Club (CAC) for their incredible support of YESS through this year's Hockey Loves Moms charity and exhibition games! 🏒💙
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, cheered from the stands, and donated, CAC raised an amazing $10,000 to support youth at YESS. We were honoured to receive this generous gift from Katherine O'Neill on behalf of the club.
Community partnerships like this help ensure young people have access to safe spaces, essential resources, and the support they need to build brighter futures.
Thank you to everyone at CAC for making such a meaningful impact.
