Every April 28th, Canada observes the National Day of Mourning — a day to reflect on the workers whose lives have been lost, altered, or impacted by a workplace tragedy.

Their memory strengthens our resolve to do better and be better when it comes to the safety of our people.

Celebrated every year on the last Wednesday of February, is a chance for us as a society to decry the immense hurt and harm bullying causes. The suffering and damage this unacceptable and destructive behaviour inflicts can leave lasting emotional and physical scars, some of which never heal. Whether at work, school, or home, maltreatment must always be denounced. For it is in speaking up, and calling out that which is wrong, where we begin to make meaningful change.

Today is an opportunity to come together and encourage one another to be inclusive, welcoming, and supportive. We are proud of our employees for embracing this day, and for their unequivocal opposition against bullying.
