Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all our families and more!

We had so much fun during this holiday season.

Children spreading cheer with Christmas Carols and music, our family Christmas event full of activities including cookie decorating and lots of age appropriate provocations for our children throughout December!

It definitely is the most magical time of the year.

Where do you find magic? On our walk this morning we found a fairy garden! Together we wondered where the fairies were, what they were doing, and when they moved in! These moments are fantastic opportunity's to grow relationships through communication and idea sharing, as well as extend our sense of wonder and enchantment. Magic is everywhere through our eyes!

Ball pit fun! This morning our teachers brought in a swimming pool and added plastic balls to it! Our infants were so excited to play in it that the ran/crawled over as fast as they could and then started to through the balls around! One friend even passed a ball over to her teacher to throw!

A morning provocation! In our preschool and toddler programs this month the children have got to watch as our caterpillars from grew and eventually turned into chrysalids! Here you can see one of our preschoolers being inspired by the book Ten Little Caterpillars. She's making connections between the book and the experience we've been enjoying! What will happen next to our new friends?

Some together time happened in our infant room recently! We used this fine motor tower together and watched how the different balls moved as they made their way down!

Dramatic play at its finest! Here you can see our preschool friend are working together in their kitchen space! One friend has taken on the role as cook while the other children are guests at the restaurant! We learn so many amazing communication skills when we play like this together!

The rainy weather can't get us down! This week we've been getting outside into our playground to puddle jump, explore and get messy! We like to think that as long as we're dressed for the weather we can enjoy it anytime!

Is there anything better than exploring in the mud? These friends had a mud cooking opportunity in our play yard together! They talked about how it felt and what they were making for different people in their families! This type of play allows us to explore our sense, promote our communication skills and build relationships with peers!

What does your community look like? At Little Learning House we strive to be an active member of our community and frequently explore what our neighbourhood has to offer with our children. Through walks, parks, and spray decks we encourage local engagement and sense of place for all in our care. We love getting outdoors and appreciating everything our community has to offer!
