June teaching is less about teaching and more about survival with a planner in your hand and hope in your heart.
At this point, we’re accepting any strategy that gets us through the next class, the next interruption, or the next “just one quick question.” Coffee is a personality trait, the bell is a myth, and every announcement feels personal.
If the lesson didn’t work, we pivot. If the energy is chaos, we match it internally but remain externally calm. And if all else fails… we count down to summer in our heads and call it a win.
We’re not thriving. We’re finishing. 😌

At this point my brain has stopped registering chaos.

1 – Calm, thriving, nothing can shake me 😌
2 – Slightly aware of the chaos, still functional 🙂
3 – Running on caffeine and denial ☕
4 – One more thing and I’m done 😵💫
5 – Absolutely not okay, send help 🚨

We get told this a lot…
Teacher planners don’t work for the subjects I teach. I teach Music, Phys. Ed, English 10…well have you thought of using the blocks in your planner for your lessons rather than for each class you teach?
Planning this way makes your plans more specialized and specific and you can see the goal of each lesson you teach. The details are not overlooked or forgotten and your whole planner gets used.
