Pete's been working hard to put in the gate. He's poured the concrete pads, brought down electrical for the double gates ( which involved cutting a path thru the concrete driveway), and just put up the posts this morning.

I'm calling our backyard space the "sunken garden", named after Butchart Gardens in an effort to be inspired by what could be. The backyard has quite a slope and a lot of shale so It will be an interesting challenge. I look forward to working on it.

Good morning! A couple of lovely shade planters from . They have some gorgeous sun and shade ones at different price points.

Fall colours and . . . saying goodbye to the rose garden and hello to a newly grass seeded back yard. We kept all the white 'Easy Spirit' roses 'cause they're so hardy and many of the lavender just so it doesn't look too much like a football field. lol.

Pete built us some new cedar steps and a handmade steel railing that he painted black. Such a talented guy!

So nice that your dog is welcome at Meridale. Their French Toast, made with homemade sourdough, rhubarb topping, whip, and real maple syrup, was to die for!

We lost our Bowen yesterday. It feels too quiet and too loud all at once. We will keep ourselves busy, and Kaiden too. We already have a trip planned to visit family.

If there was a soul mate in dogs, Bowen was mine. We’ll all miss him.
