When this stunning floral print hit I was immediately smitten. It reminded me of everything I loved about the '70s. I mean that shade if green is incredible. Give me an avocado fridge any day 🥑
So I rifled through my collection of patterns to see if I had something vintage to match the vibes, and naturally I did.
My cousin was getting married in Mexico and I thought this would be the perfect place for this dress. Soft, breathable linen, in a beautiful print, with a retro vibe. Perfection!
For a second I felt like all those pictures you see of '70s Bridesmaids in floor length floral dresses that kind of look like '70s floral couches but I quickly got over that. Or should I say, I decided to own it.
I love this dress! And I love this fabric! And it was so fun to wear on a beachy vacation 🌴

I've made a mountain of these little triangle pouches this week. It was the first time I made a whole bundle of them instead of a one-off, and I definitely learned some things I will do differently next time around 😅
It's been a long time since I was in Volume Production class. They probably don't even teach it anymore! I'm just my own little factory 🪡

Moody Flower 🖤
I've had this pattern from in my stash for ages and decided to turn it into a hot pad! It was a really fun make and came together quicker than I expected.
The hot pad is layered with cotton batting and heat reflective batting to protect whatever surfaces it's placed on.
The petals of the flower are quite small so it's the perfect project to use up scraps. I can't wait to make more! 🌸

This past December we had Christmas parties every single weekend. And while I obviously didn't need to make an outfit for every single party, I did want to make a few fun things to wear.
I absolutely loved this tartan style plaid had in store, so when I found a remnant of it I snatched it up.
I think there was just under a yard of it, so I really had to think about what I want to make with it. In the end I decided on this cropped sleeveless ruffled top. I didn't have a pattern for it, I just tried to recreate a picture I saw online. In the end I think it worked!
I'd love to make a full dress out of this fabric in the future because I love it so much, but we'll see. Is it possible to open too much of plaid?
