In a Christmas chorale concert, I noticed an elderly member in a wheelchair. Her eyes looked down the whole concert with no music in her hands. She hardly moved but sang every piece with one foot tapping the pulse. Her fellow singer occasionally lean over and she would also lean towards the voice. What a supportive and beautiful sight! - on stage!!!
It’s a powerful message demonstrated;
music is for everyone, compassion extends joy far and wide!!

💫A JOURNEY OF SELF-COMPASSION AND DEEP REST 💫

On Sunday, October 26th at 2-4pm, join Mari and Anya for an afternoon of deep relaxation and mental calm. The journey will start with a one-hour restorative class. We will create comfortable and supported poses to reset the alignment in the body and the nervous system.
💫This practice will be accompanied by the soothing melodies of Anya’s harp. Leave all the business behind and embrace this practice of self-compassion. This will be followed by a light refreshment break then a deeper practice of Yoga Nidra. The “divine sleep” when practiced with intention is the equivalent to four hours of deep sleep. Bolsters, blankets, mats and eye pillows are provided. Please feel free to bring any other props t support you during this deep rest. Reset your mind and body. Leave feeling refreshed and renewed for the week ahead.

I had coffee today with the little girl in the picture- not little anymore! My prior student for years! Witnessing her growing up to become an unique young woman AND still playing the piano! My heart just couldn’t stopping singing!! Her two brothers too were my students. One of them made the picture frame as a high school project! My blessings to you all as you venture into the world as young adults!! Life of a teacher is very rewarding!!

My heart is very full! A piano student I taught for 11 years wrote this card. A teacher's most rewarding moment is witnessing student's growth in learning the art and discipline. How it impacted his whole wellbeing and acknowledged by him: "...you have given me not just the ability to play (the piano) well, but taught me work ethic, emotional vulnerability and expressions that shaped who I became over the years...".
He is moving onto the next exciting stage of life - study Health Science at Queen University, ON. with scholarship!!
