Members of CSARβs Swiftwater team met in Revelstoke two weeks ago for Raftex 2026. This was a Swiftwater and rafting jamboree hosted by RevSAR, and was attended by upwards of 70 Swiftwater Rescue Technicians from teams all across BC. Participants engaged in skill and team building competitions including raft flips, throw bagging, rescue assist rope systems and rescue swims. Of course, there were opportunities for some seriously fun rafting on the local rivers, including a fantastic run down the Illecillewaet on Sunday morning. Thank you so much to Revelstoke Search and Rescue for hosting such a fun event βοΈπ£πΌββοΈ

Before you head out:
βοΈ Leave a trip plan with someone you trust
βοΈ Check weather, terrain, and local conditions
βοΈ Carry essential gear and extra supplies
βοΈ Be prepared for limited or no cell service
βοΈ Know your location and understand rescue response times may vary
A little preparation can make a huge difference and helps ensure everyone gets home safely.
