After a successful 18-year tenure as co-owner of Life Works Gym with my wife Jessie Fox.I have made the transition to offering my strength and conditioning services both online and in person at the Bill Warren training centre at Nordic Center. The opportunity to build client durability continues to be fulfilling, regardless of location. When I blew out my lower back I used to try and stretch it out with toe touches, figure four back twists and even an inversion table.
I have to admit that those strategies did feel good at the moment but they sure did not fix my low back...
in fact, 15 min after stretching, my back pain came back in full force. I found myself constantly stretching to stay in front of the pain.๐ฅ

We are SOOO excited to lead your Code Red Fitness Classes again and I'm looking forward to seeing you and everyone else in the new studio space.
After our COVID closure almost 3 years ago, Jessie and I are unveiling the new Code Red at the Bill Warren Training Centre...we have been approached by so many clients to bring back the in-person class experience. The waiting is over, and ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
In person boutique class will be hold every Saturday

We had an amazing weekend in Kelowna Big White Ski Resort as the entire ๐ฆ family with friends participated in Spartan Racing.โก๏ธwe named our team as - โ THE SPARTANLING โ๐ฃ
๐ชSpartan racing is cross-country running with obstacles spread throughout the course.
Jessie Fox and I have been taking our son Max to run in these races for the past 4 years since
Max was 4 years old and decided 1 month before the Kelowna Spartan Race, to sign up for the 10 km.๐คฏ
๐ฅตWe had ONLY 1 month to train. ๐ซฅ๐ซฅ๐ซฅ
Jessie and I did not want to crawl๐ข across the finish line, we wanted to run across it. Setting this simple athletic goal ๐ฏwas all it took for us to consistently train andโฆ running with my wife toward a common goal was very refreshing and bonding andโฆ ๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐จ
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ฆknowing that our son sees Jessie and I train hard to prepare for an event is a great lesson for himโฆ
that alone was enough to push through the energy-sapping runs for the first 3 weeks.
Jessie and I havenโt run in years๐, soโฆ we decided to run our first 5 k in Kananaskisโฆ โก๏ธit was a leg burner. ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ผWe felt very energy expensive as we did not bounce off the ground as I once remembered as a teenager.
Our first run was a little disheartening butโฆwe did not stop running and over the month our running became more gazelle-likeโฆ more enjoyable.
๐ฅRace day came! Jessie, Sean, Pal and I line up at the starting line as a team nervous and excited.
We did a hike run to the top ๐of Big White Ski Resort then ran down the other side to the finish. ๐ค๐๐ 25 Obstacles โ๏ธ๐ค๐required full body strength.The 14 km SUPER cross-country run sprinkled with obstacles was surprisingly very enjoyable and rewarding. ๐We all finished the race strong and together.
๐๐ปWe canโt wait to train for the next one!๐ชโ๏ธ
