This was a very special shirt made for on March 21.
2024 was my daughter's first year of middle school, it was also her first year with a male teacher.
She dubbed him "Teach" or Heymans. He called her Gilbert. It was the best year of firsts I could have imagined.

Hard at work over here at Custom Bean Designs! Working on a set of shirts for teachers and staff at my daughter's current school, and I'll be working on a set for her former school soon as well!

March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day and is very close to our hearts here, as my oldest has Down syndrome!

Down syndrome is another name for Trisomy 21, which means a triple of the 21st chromosome. Everyone gets 23 chromosomes from each of their parents at conception, so a neurotypical person has 46 chromosomes..but E has an extra copy of the 21st chromosome, so people with Down syndrome have 47. They are, quite literally, more extra than the rest of us! 😜

Down syndrome is characterised by physical characteristics such as low muscle tone, low-set ears, an upward slant to their eyes, a sandal gap between their big toe and their others (think of where the piece on flip flops goes between your toes!) and a single palmar crease.
Down syndrome happens at conception, and is estimated to happen to 1 in 800 births.

March is Down syndrome awareness month and March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day (3:21).

Shipping is free within Waterloo Region (Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo), as well as Hamilton, ON. Shirts can be shipped for a nominal fee if needed.

DTF (direct-to-film) allows us to better handle multiple coloured orders and logos, while cutting down on processing time and labor costs!

We started with our logo (obviously 😉) and can't wait to see what you come up with for us to print!

I'm going to be making shirts for WDSD this year.
I'm collecting orders, to place an order next weekend for sizes.
Shirts are $15/ea, with $5 of that being donated to Nutrition for Learning.
If you live outside of KW, I'm in Hamilton daily and can make other arrangements/ship outside of that, but I can't guarantee a delivery date!

Late night weeding session....sometimes I find this super calming, sometimes I find this very tedious...tonight was a calming night!

I do offer free local delivery to the city of Cambridge. Delivery to KW and surrounding areas may be subject to a nominal fee. Anything needing to be shipped further, I do offer shipping through Canada Post.
I can ship to the USA as well, but shipping would need to be discussed.
