A Tale of Two Sisters

One undeniably stunning heirloom.

When one daughter inherited her mom's original birthstone ring — aquamarine, sapphires, and colour-changing alexandrite set in a delicate half-bezel — her sister felt the pull of that same memory.

So we recreated it. Stone for stone. Setting for setting. A second ring, brand new yet beautifully familiar, so both sisters could carry a piece of their mother with them.

One on each hand, connected by the same love.

Heirlooms aren't just passed down. Sometimes, they're reimagined so the story can keep being told.

Yellow sapphires are said to carry abundance and positive energy. It’s no wonder Ian was drawn to one.

He already knew his partner adored yellow gemstones, and with guidance from our designer Maanansi, he chose to propose with a striking 1.4 ct. lab-grown marquise yellow sapphire. A rope detail had always lived in his vision for her ring, and it brought the entire design to life.

Ian had explored countless options before coming to Marlow Design, but he discovered that going custom was the only way to truly capture the FEELING he was chasing.

The Lake Louise proposal was a complete surprise. The ring came to life beyond what he imagined, and she got the ring of her dreams.

The next adventure deserves a ring that can keep up 🌲 We designed her engagement ring to live as boldly as her: 0.7 ct green sapphire, rose gold with floral details, six prongs to keep the stone in place forever.

This cut is close to our hearts. One of the photos features Marlow's own engagement ring and his fiancée's, both rocking teal Montana sapphires.

🔹Symmetry matters - a beautiful pear feels balanced from every angle.

🔹Find your ratio - long and elegant or soft and rounded, the "right" one is the one you love.

🔹Durability counts - softer gems shine in everyday pieces with the right setting; harder stones handle more wear.

🔹Clarity is gem-specific - diamonds prize clean stones, emeralds celebrate their natural "garden."

🔹 Watch for the bow-tie - that faint shadow across the middle is mostly a diamond thing. A well-cut stone keeps it subtle.

🔹 Protect the point - the tip is the most delicate part of any pear, so the setting matters as much as the stone.
