Saxophone, flute and clarinet repairs and sales for beginners to pros.
Just bought a King Super 20 alto with full pearls this week. It’s been sitting in the case for almost 30 years and has been owned by the same family for its entire life!! It will be for sale once I get a change to give it a complete overhaul. Let me know if you are interested.
Wow!! Another Canadian assembled first year mark vi in for an overhaul. How luck am I!!

Have any other repair techs had the joy of having to remove pads from a sax that were installed using caulking? As in the the type you use in your bathroom shower, for example? OMG!! What a pain the in a$$ to remove!! WHY???
My next overhaul! I’ve had a few overhauls lately, but this one is sooo cute. It’s a 1924 Buescher C Soprano with the original mouthpiece!!

Just picked up a really nice tenor short shank Selmer Soloist. Supper nice condition. Been sitting in a drawer for decades I believe.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the gem of the collection, in my opinion. A 1926 Conn New Wonder II bari sax. The serial number is 189 # # #. Does that ring a bell with anyone? If you can try to see through all the blackness, it’s actually in remarkable condition, especially for a bari that’s almost 100 years old! Obviously this one has never seen the inside of a school in its 98 years old life. I am going to have to carve out some time in my schedule to get working on this one soon!!

I have a soft spot for these tenors. It’s a 1961 Buffet Super Dynaction. Really nice condition, but the pads are old, so it’s going to need some work. All of these horns have been sitting in a basement for 20 years.

Next up is a Buffet Dynaction from 1953. never had one of these in the shop, but I heave heard great things about how they play. Can’t wait to find out.
BTW, all these horns I am posting are for sale, but I normally like to do complete overhauls before I sell. As I am pretty busy right now, that may take a while.

Just bought another collection of saxophones from an estate. I admit that I have a problem saying no to collections like this. The next few posts will highlight the saxes from the collection.
Let’s start off from smallest to largest. Here we have a Conn curved soprano from about 1914. He’s a cute little guy in the original case and still has the original mouthpiece. Unfortunately he is missing the low C # key. So if anyone know where I can get one, let me know. Otherwise I will have to make one when I get time…..

Before and after of some brush silver plating on an old clarinet I am working on. Thanks to for agreeing to let me try it.

Bought a couple of vintage tenor mouthpieces yesterday. A very vintage Berg Larsen 110/2/SMS with a “denim” table (measures in at 0.105”) and a lovely Pompano Beach Link “no USA” STM. I haven’t played either or cleaned them up yet. The Link still has most of the gold plating including on the tip and side rails. It’s a 5* but measures at 0.091” on my gauge. Since it still has the gold plating I doesn’t appear to have been refaced, and the reed seals perfectly, so the facing is in good condition. Both pieces appear to have their original lig and cap and the Link even has the original box. Look for them to be posted to my web site soon!
